The changing seasons are a reminder of the never-ending continuum of precious time.  The most sobering of all thoughts as we all, together, race toward a common destination.  Our own journeys being the defining essence of who we are.

The hints of change are constant as each day of each month passes.  The thickening and thinning of the ice flows, wildlife wandering in for only a moment and moving on as the transcendent nomads display their beauty and endurance.

Capturing these visions sometimes means pausing and taking a snapshot in your mind.  Not as simple as a shutter release but forcing you to imprint the vision, capturing and processing the picture for future recall enabling us through powerful storytelling to describe and convey for others less fortunate to not have experienced what we did.  If we don’t take the time to observe, appreciate and share, much of what is gifted to us, although imprinted in our memories, becomes a prisoner of our thoughts.

Our gift of sight and mind are more powerful than the most expensive camera or computer as we desperately try to imitate and create the majesty of our being.

We are entrusted stewards preserving, capturing and describing the visionary wonder of all that’s around us.  Awestruck as we pass by a stream moving from winter to spring and revealing the beautiful waterflow beneath, carving snow and ice sculptures on its banks and the invigorating sound of the water rushing over the rocks below.

The change of the seasons provides a constant anticipation of something amazing.  New beginnings, another age ring on the tree of life and perhaps perspective, the greatest of all reveals.

Just a few weeks from another spring in New England, I write this in eager anticipation of what adventure and beautiful landscapes I’ll be able to explore, capture and tell you about.  Let inspiration lead the way and may the storyteller in you come alive with imagination powered by the boundless beauty around us.  Go out tonight and touch a star.
